Caravan Journeys Beyond
This video describes a brief history of the Caravan Stage Company, a unique touring theatre company.
From 1970 to 1992 the company toured in Canada and the US with horses and wagons, putting on shows
in a large tensile tent. From 1993 to 1997 the company built its own 90 ft theatre ship called the Amara Zee
as a new touring performance venue. By water, the company has toured all through North America,
Europe, the Balkan countries and the Mediterranean.
In 2017, the Caravan will tour the Gulf of Mexico and then travel through the Panama Canal on the deck of a Cargo ship, from the Gulf of Mexico to the Pacific west coast. In August and September the Caravan will arrive in its home waters of British Columbia, in time to celebrate Canada’s 150th Anniversary Birthday party. Once home for the first time in 30 years, the Caravan will perform its new Rock Opera “Nomadic Tempest” in Nanaimo, Victoria, New Westminster & Vancouver.
In 2018 onward, the Caravan will journey into the futures beyond the horizons.
