A Welshman based in Paris, having spent 6 years in Brooklyn, I specialize in multi-media journalism, hosting & filmmaking in conflict and risk-on zones, with 25 years experience in terrorism, National Security apparatus & aviation. Signing part time with ABC News in 2017, I cover foreign stories across Europe & the Middle East, including West Mosul for a 2-part documentary for the History Channel (The New Age of Terror), and Antakya in Turkey for ABC, where I was the first Western journalist to interview Abdel Hamed Youseff, the man that lost his two nine-month old twins in the chemical attack on Khan Sheikhoun in Syria.
In the Summer of 2017, I hosted a new show for History Channel on the Knights Templar, a non-scripted investigation to be paired with History’s new scripted drama, Knightfall, airing Jan 31st 2018. I’m also Good Morning Britain’s Security Correspondent/Analyst (U.K ITV breakfast show).
Previously an analyst on CNN; a producer/ host of Top of the World and YOLO, both entertainment series for Travel Channel; and a producer/host for Saving Heroes; Michael’s production company also produces, shoots and edits short & long form docs across news and branded content for companies such as Dow Jones, Vogue, and Yale New Haven Hospital.
