Humiliating moment hero police dog hunts down repeat offender in river after pursuit

This is the hilarious moment a repeat offender yelps out in pain and is arrested with his pants down after being caught in the river by a hero police dog.

The male, who is named only as Louis in the clip, crumples to the floor of the shallow water after being hunted down by the Met Police‘s PD Bowser.

He lets out a high-pitched scream and is seen almost in tears with his trousers and pants just above his knees, leaving him exposed, as an officer places him in handcuffs.

The crook had been wanted by Scotland Yard officers after he had been linked to 26 crimes.

Bodycam footage of the pursuit was posted on the force’s social media pages and has gone viral with more than 100,000 views.

In it, officers go to the wanted thief’s home address, who is seen stumbling out of his bedroom window in comedic scenes.

He sprints across a roof with an officer and PD Bowser seen climbing over a fence in close pursuit.

The trail leads the police duo through people’s rear gardens and eventually to a shallow river.

They jump in without any hesitation and find their target after ‘many minutes’ of searching.

PD Bowser is let off his leash and runs off as his handler yells at ‘Louis’ to ‘stand still’.

The convicted criminal screeches out in pain as the canine clamps its jaws on his trousers. He collapses to the ground as the officer tells him to ‘get your hands off him [the dog]’.

He then falls backwards while screaming before being helped to his feet.

In the next clip, the man is almost in tears as he is placed in handcuffs with his trousers and pants having been pulled down by PD Bowser during the capture.

CCTV footage was also shown of the male dumping his bicycle before sauntering off to steal from a van.

Another shows him placing a can on the floor before raiding somebody’s car parked on a driveway.

The Met said he had been returned to prison and has since been convicted on numerous charges.

‘A repeat offender linked to 26 crimes such as burglaries and thefts from motor vehicles is back in custody,’ the force said in its post alongside the clip.

‘He attempted to flee in a nearby river when officers attended his home but was quickly located by the dog unit and arrested.

‘Another prolific offender taken off our streets thanks to PD Bowser & his handler.’

The Daily Mail has contacted the Met Police for further details.
