Vantage Honors Veterans Day with Cruise for Massachusetts Fallen Heroes Families
Boston (October 22, 2015) – Vantage Deluxe World Travel, the world renowned tour operator headquartered in Boston, announces today that it will send 60 family members affiliated with Massachusetts Fallen Heroes on an all inclusive free European cruise with the goal of growing and healing alongside others who lost loved ones.
The families will fly to Paris on October 30 and embark on a 12 day cruise aboard the luxurious ms River Venture. The trip will include 9 sightseeing tours including the Eiffel Tower and Notre Dame in Paris, walking tours of Vernon, Rouen, and Honfleur and a special visit to Normandy for a tour of the D-Day beaches and a wreath laying ceremony at the Normandy American Cemetery, final resting place for nearly 10,000 American soldiers killed during the largest land invasion in history.
“In honor of Veterans Day, we want to show our appreciation for the courage and sacrifice of all those who paid the ultimate price for our freedom,” said Patricia Lewis of Vantage Deluxe World Travel. “This is a unique and restorative travel experience that we hope will aid in the healing process for those families mourning their loved ones.”
The complimentary cruise is part of Vantage Deluxe World Travel’s Vantage Heroes program, which provides those recovering from traumatic experiences an opportunity to bond and share their experiences and their strength with one another. Past cruises have been offered to survivors of the Boston Marathon Bombings, 9/11 families and those who lost loved ones in the devastating Yarnell Hill wildfire in 2013. Families from 20 local towns will be represented on the October 30 cruise for Massachusetts Fallen Heroes.
“This program has been important to our organization because it allows us to provide a unique and special opportunity to those we serve. By providing this opportunity, Vantage Deluxe World Travel is also telling the families “Thank you” for what you have sacrificed,” says Chris Lessard, Program Director, Massachusetts Fallen Heroes. “I have received comments such as ‘I can’t believe I’m going to France!”, “This can’t be real!” “My son would have wanted us to go experience another culture, so we have to do this!”
